Depending on my mode I love all kinds of music. Both Christian and secular. I however don't like country or classical or opera. I mostly love listing to rock and pop.

What? How could you not like classical music? LOL.

That said, I dislike most country, most jazz and most rap and the vast majority of what is widely purported to be "music" from the last several years.

My favorites tend to fall under the category of "Classic Rock".
I have liked at least a little of every style that I have heard though.

At the top of disliked music has to be heavy metal/punk and its variations, which I don't consider to be music in any sense of the word. This is followed by hip hop, another genera I don't consider to be music. Then comes inspirational music. Opera and heavy classical is my next least favorite, probably because I don't know enough to appreciate its complexity and nuances. Then we have country. Although some country songs have engaging rhythms and melodies the lyrics are often trite, boring, and repetitive. Following that would be jazz and blues; some structured jazz can be pretty darn good. New age music might next, (haven't heard enough of it), then pop music---some of it. At the top is music that has true melody and harmony. Think of songs that one might sing or hum in the shower.

I'd say that as I've got older I've grown better at loving music in all its forms. Even country. Try listening to some of the transatlantic sessions on the BBC. It's country, folky magic.
