America financed the Nazis and Bolsheviks

I believe America has financed the Nazis and Bolsheviks.
My sources are the two books of professor Antony C. Sutton.

About his book Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler, he writes:
“The contribution made by American capitalism to German war preparations can only be described as phenomenal. It was certainly crucial to German military capabilities.... Not only was an influential sector of American business aware of the nature of Nazism, but for its own purposes aided Nazism wherever possible (and profitable)―with full knowledge that the probable outcome would be war involving Europe and the United States.”

Penetrating a cloak of falsehood, deception, and duplicity, Professor Sutton reveals one of the most remarkable and under-reported facts of World War II―that key Wall Street banks and American businesses supported Hitler’s rise to power by financing and trading with Nazi Germany. Carefully tracing this closely guarded secret through original documents and eyewitness accounts, Sutton comes to the unsavory conclusion that the catastrophe of World War II was extremely profitable for a select group of financial insiders. He presents a thoroughly documented account of the role played by J.P. Morgan, T.W. Lamont, the Rockefeller interests, General Electric, Standard Oil, and the National City, Chase, and Manhattan banks, Kuhn, Loeb and Company, General Motors, Ford Motor Company, and scores of others in helping to prepare the bloodiest, most destructive war in history.
And about his book Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution, he writes:
“Sutton comes to conclusions that are uncomfortable for many businessmen and economists. For this reason, his work tends to be either dismissed out of hand as ‘extreme’ or, more often, simply ignored.” ―Richard Pipes, Baird Professor Emeritus of History, Harvard University (from Survival Is Not Enough: Soviet Realities and America's Future)

Why did the 1917 American Red Cross Mission to Russia include more financiers than medical doctors? Rather than caring for the victims of war and revolution, its members seemed more intent on negotiating contracts with the Kerensky government and, subsequently, the Bolshevik regime.

In a courageous investigation, Antony Sutton establishes tangible historical links between Russian communists and US capitalists. Drawing on US state department files, personal papers of key Wall Street figures, biographies, and conventional histories, Sutton reveals:
  • The role of Morgan banking executives in funneling illegal Bolshevik gold into the US.
  • The co-option of the American Red Cross by powerful Wall Street forces.
  • The intervention by Wall Street sources to free the Marxist revolutionary Leon Trotsky, whose aim was to topple the Russian government.
  • The deals made by major corporations to capture the huge Russian market a decade and a half before the US recognized the Soviet regime.
  • The secret sponsoring of Communism by leading businessmen, who publicly championed free enterprise.

I therefore believe that one can say that America was the cause of the Second World War. The question now is, why did America do it? What goals did America pursue?

Sutton's works have received criticisms from academics, particularly his Wall Street trilogy (Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution, Wall Street and FDR, and Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler)".[15][16] A contemporary review of Sutton's Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution, researcher Virgil D. Medlin of Oklahoma City University reported finding numerous factual errors in the book and claimed that Sutton repeated "unsubstantiated allegations [and came to] unwarranted conclusions." Medlin also wrote that Sutton made use of dubious sources, such as rumor and uncorroborated inquiries, as "documentary proof of [his] allegations."[15]
Howard Dickman of the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research referred to Sutton's Wall Street and FDR as a "weak specimen of conspiracy history" that was "poorly written and edited, digressive, repetitious, disorganized, and unconvincing."[16]
Sutton's Western Technology and Soviet Economic Development, 1945 to 1965, also received criticism, specifically its thesis. Dr. Samuel Lieberstein of Temple University had initially praised the first two volumes of the study but later came to criticize it in his review of the third volume, stating that Sutton failed to note instances of Soviet technological innovation and ignored positive aspects of the USSR's planned economy that seemed to conflict with his thesis.[17] British historian Richard C. Thurlow also criticized Sutton's thesis, writing that "all nations were dependent on international trade for economic development and their industrial infrastructure, including the United States" adding that Sutton "totally [disregarded] alternative explanations of Soviet industrialization".[18]

There was a Nazi political party in the USA in the 1930's. It had quite a bit of support. Charles Lindberg was a member. It wasn't until the war broke out that Americans lost taste for the ideas. Anti-Semitism is still popular in the USA with a rise in neo-Nazisim as Trump got into poliics. While Trump doesn't directly support Nazis he has shown no serious condemnantion, which is typical of his playing all sides.

And of course the USA sent aid to Communist Russia to help them fight the Nazis. Oddly, despite the Cold War, Russia did continue to make payments to the USA for the war materials we sent them.

One thing Stalin recognized after the Revolution of 1917 was that Russia was way behind in industrial development. He made a huge effort to indusrialize Russia and modernize it. Of course this involved Capitalists who were able to invest and make money since they had the expertise and experience that Russia didn't have. Russia even adopted the Christie tank design that was American, and it became the basis for the T-34, one of the best overall tanks in WW2.

Did this start WW2? How? The world had just finished a global conflict and was rebuilding. It was the Great Depression that lead to a lot of social unrest and openness to facsist governments in Europe, and even America with Nazi and Communist political paries forming. As we know Germany and Italy formed facsist governments that were hostile to peace. The rest of the world got dragged into another global war due to these unhinged leaders.

Any lesson for America? Apparently not.

Anyone can write a book.
That alone doesn't make the work cromulent.

This portion of the quoted text is interesting....

Aiding Nazi Germany "wherever possible" is a grandiose claim.
I'll wager $10 that it's unsupported.

Also on...

I'll give you that, but "wherever profitable" is nearly axiomatically true. It's what capitalists do.

I don't think most capitalists had read Marx. One would have to know that Germany was a bubble that had to burst at one time.

An elitist cabal from the USA ...you know..den Vereinigten Staaten, paid Hitler to conquer Russia on their behalf.

And their descendants are doing the same ...by paying that ridiculous circus in Kiev to wage a destructive war against Russia.
This is the truth.
They are not even original...in their foolish dream of conquest.

No need for a conspiracy when all the actors have the same goal from the beginning.

Nope. In WWII Germany attacked the SU, this time Russia attacked Ukraine.
If your conspiracy theory was true, the conspirators would have had Putin make the first step.

Do you know that in Danzig corridor, Poles were persecuting Germans, ancient Prussians, to force Germany to invade?

Same thing in Donbas. They persecuted the Russian speakers, to push for the Donbas War. To push Putin to invade.

I am not handicapped. I studied the history of the 20th century...and I won't let any Dem Propaganda (and the Democratic Party is filled with ignorant people and anti-intellectualism) dupe me.

Kapiert? ;)

We are young.
When the older generations die out, we will rewrite history...and intellectuals like me will cancel all the lies we have been hearing for years, about the war.
;)
You're an "intellectual", eh.
I'll claim to be a super genius.
(I'm now off to catch a rabbit for dinner.)

“Hitler was a pretty decent chap who was forced into the defensive stances of Lebensraum, ethnic cleansing and genocide by the devious and mendacious untermenschen.”

“And Hitler was widely praised as a noble and just fuhrer until George Soros and the Democrats began their campaign to present him as the bad guy.”

I am a Christian.
And Hitler is in Hell....because he was evil.

I was just pointing out that he wanted to invade Poland and he needed a pretext...an excuse...and the Danzig corridor thing was the right pretext.
Period.
“And Hitler was widely praised as a noble and just fuhrer until George Soros and the Democrats began their campaign to present him as the bad guy.”
It's funny how you guys who never condemn Soros... probably don't have the so called long-term memory.
Soros used to help his adoptive parents seize Jewish property. In Hungary.
Occupied Hungary.

But now he's forgiven by you guys? All forgotten and forgiven?
May I suggest you to read "The Banality of Evil" by Arendt?
