Does anyone watch this? I love American Idol. It seems better this year. I like the personal stories of the contestants. I love the people who are convinced they can sing, but can't.

The voting problem in America was caused by the Hawaii People. The program isn't rigged because it's the American public who votes. However, some people learned how to tie up the lines. Also, some people weren't voting. I think they have solved the problem. With Australian Idol last year, one of the best performances by one of the remaining 3 (or 4?) contestants was not broadcast to regional Queensland - his largest fan base. They cut to an ad as he started to sing. He was voted out that week. It struck me as more than a little sus...
That being said, I got totally sucked in to both American Idol and Australian Idol last year. I'm not sure what's happening with Australian Idol this year, currently we have a similar show called 'The X Factor' that has just started. I love watching the early auditions, and the reactions of people being told they can't sing, when it's patently obvious to everyone but them how bad they really are. Love it!
