I just got back from being hugged by Amma.

I find myself... here but not here, with a bit of confusion over the fact that it didn't quite go how I thought it would. But how it went wasn't disagreeable.

She did say something to me, but it wasn't in English, so I don't know what she said. MoonWater suspects, as do I, that it was most likely some kind of blessing.

I had never been in the direct presence of a Sage, before. Now that I have, I must say that while directly in her presence, there's only a very subtle effect, once I left, I felt a very strong after-effect of some kind of trance that's still going on.

Does anyone else here get that when in a Sage's presence?

Yes, meeting a sage is not what you expect. They can change the way you look at the world. They also can cause trance like states in the people around them. I know people who have cried for long periods of time after meeting a sage. Some have visions. It is very Important to remember that this type of display of Shakti is at times given by non-sages. One must be very careful around this type of thing. This is not a comment on AMMA ( She has hugged me and I liked her) just a comment on "Gurus" in general.

Hi. You lucky fellow I think.

A test of meeting a real sage is the state of mind. If mind becomes unruffled and remains so, then you are in right presence. The worldly interactions however, will again tend to create the uneven turbulent waves, and then another charge may be required. It is almost like battery charging.:D

I have found there is no time in the presence of the muni. The darśana ( some write darśan) is quite sufficient. Many come with questions on their minds, then when in the air of the jñānin ( the wise, the knower of the SELF) all questions melt ( for me).

I am also happy Riverwolf had the opportunity to meet Amma. The whisper IMHO is the contact and conversation with the SELF. Perhaps
' ātma-ji , come to the front for Riverwolf's experience' .
