I would hope most jokes are. It is a lot better than making it personal.

One is generally allowed to use stereotypes about oneself in a joke. It is usually not proper to use stereotypes about others in a joke. It would be a bad Joke if I told one that involved all Christians being fools. That would make it personal for you. Self deprecating humor is okay, making fun of others not so much.
