An experiment: Do you see me as online?

Faithfreedom

i gotta change my avatar
Immediately after this post, i am going to click the x button at the top right hand corner of the screen, thereby getting out out the net, without pressing the log off button here on this site.

After many hours i will get back in, and post somethihg here.

So between my 2 post i will actually be offline.

So please post me after this, whether u see me as online or offline.

Thanks.

You could just ask the mods how long you continue to register as 'online' after you've closed the browser. ;)

You're still showing online to me.

I suspect it's somewhat random, depending on when whatever process(es) that clear out online status run.

most vB boards keep you online for 15 minutes after no activity...but i'm always online as soon as i open RF again; even if it's been HOURS. honestly, i'm NOT always online! i do have a life and lots of kids! :p

I find that if i don't log off but just click the x button on the top left hand corner, then i too am always online as soon as i open RF again. That's why i'm trying this experiment; to see if others perceive me as online or not. Now i know that they don't see me as online after 15 minutes.

Another interesting thing is:
I have a home computer as well as an office computer. (No, this part is not the interesting bit)
Whichever computer i log off properly, will ask me to register to get in RF again.
The one on which i did not log off properly will always show me as online as soon as i go to the RF site. (Now, this is the interesting bit)

In my next post here, i will say, "Offline" then click x button on top right hand corner again.

This is on my home computer. The first post was on my office computer (yes, i'm bad - posting during work time). This paragraph is to help me identify/keep track where i'm posting from.

Thank-you. The great experiment continues.
Remember, all posts after this one, means i'm still online. All post after my next post (when i say, "Offline"), is when i'm offline on my home computer.

Thanks Circle for confirming.

Ok, since i think that this issue is settled, then this little experiment is hereby declared "CLOSED".

Once again, a big thank-you to all who participated here.

Clap, clap, clap....thumbs up, thumbs up, thumbs up,...
