There is a movement to remove Andrew Jackson from the $20 bill, and replace him with Harriet Tubman.

I think having a female on our money is a good idea. I think having a non-white female is even better.

Harriet Tubman was a very strong person whose deeds and example should be celebrated.

She was born a slave, escaped, served in the Civil War, and helped many other slaves escape as well via underground railroad.

However, I'd rather she replaced someone other than Andrew Jackson.

Andrew Jackson is one of the many people whose picture I keep on my wall and pay homage to.

I feel that he was somebody God intervened for to bring him to that destiny.

My favorite battle on American soil, was the battle of New Orleans, because it resembled a miraculous victory, that you only really see in books like the Old Testament, where God intervened for the Israelites to give them a ridiculously easy victory against all odds.

The British were better armed, and outnumbered the Americans, yet they lost more than 2,000 casualties. Only eight Americans died.

Napoleon would be jealous to have such luck with the British on the battlefield.

I don't think it was luck. I think it was Divine intervention.

Jackson was also shot twice in the chest in a dual, and walked away like it didn't phase him.

He was the only president to be a prisoner of war, and had a scar across his face, because he refused to polish a British officers shoes, and the officer lanced him in the face.

He was also uneducated, simple, and unlikely to ever be president.

He fought some unfortunate campaigns against Native Americans, but he also had a Native American son who he loved like his own child.

He was also the first American president that someone tried to assassinate.

I'm fine with Harriet Tubman being on American money, just find it unfortunate that she will be replacing the President who lead the most miraculous battle in American history.

I'd prefer she replace someone a little less remarkable than "Old Hickory".

Plus it was a miraculous battle against the redcoats, and it means so much to me to see the redcoats get their as*es handed to them :p

The real burning question, is who do you find more cute? :p

I'll go with Harriet Tubman, when she smiles...:)

At least we have a photograph of her. Photography came after Jackson's time.

I'm cool with that. Tubman is fine. I didn't really care for Jackson's treatment of native nations anyways.

Jackson's treatment of Native Americans was heinous. Get him off the bill.
King David committed murder and genocide... his atrocities against Gentiles were heinous. Does that mean israel shouldn't fly the Star of David as their flag, and venerate him as one of their greatest heroes?

The Chinese put a mass murderer who was responsible for far more deaths than Adolf Hitler, all over their money, and still hail him as a hero. I see them making no attempts to change this tradition, as a result of his heinous atrocities.

The stories and myths about King David are suspect, and represent more kingdom nationalism.

Definitely prefer Tubman. We should honor a diverse array of Americans who bring us closer to our ideal, from many walks of life, ethnicities, etc.
