I'm sorta like a an angry feminist. I have female colleagues who get so angry or frustrated when they read oppressive gender-related texts that they get sick. They read something that reminds them of how badly they've been treated and are currently oppressed because of their gender - and empathize with other women who are degraded by what they read.

Words can hardly describe the dissappointment that I have with conservative Christian leaders. I hate to see them oppress women, homosexuals, and men as they parade Christ to their own advantage. It absolutely disgusts me when Falwell, Dobson, or Robertson argue against women's rights, slandar homosexuality, and try to use the American government to further their diabolical agendas.

I'm against these clowns because I am a Christian. I will vote against their agenda because I am an American, and I care about my fellow human being.

It was Paige Patterson that really broke my heart. I read about how he divided Southern Baptists and crushed the moderate and liberal heritage that was once alive in the denomenation's seminaries and churches.

As a young seminarian, I witnessed how my fellows tried to position themselves to succeed and lead in a denomenation shaped by him instead of seeking any spiritual or scriptual guidance. As a student, I saw him wrecklessly discriminate against women and homosexuals. As a scholar, I saw him treat seasoned scholars with contempt - people who had given their entire lives to Christ and to Baptist life. He has covered Baptists in a darkness that seems to last forever.:(
