Angry Mobs

While I was reading the thread about the mob storming the impeachment hearings, I got to thinking about angry mobs in general - like with the torches and pitchforks:

I was picturing a scene like this at the Capitol. I found an interesting piece on what to do if you feel like joining an angry mob: The Future of Angry Mobs and the End of Pitchforks

I've never been in an angry mob, but I think I'd rather carry a torch than a pitchfork.

For those who might say that they would never join an angry mob, just consider the following:

This would probably be the only angry mob I would join, and if I did, I would carry a torch.

Our 2 angry mobs should merge.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure where to buy a torch. Home Depot has things like blow torches and decorative patio torches, but nothing that would be suitable for an angry mob.

I'd just get a stick, knot the end with rags & rope, & soak it in oil.

We have the problem in India these days. Many reasons, pickpockets, snatching mobile phones or purses, theft, misbehavior with women, child lifting, in villages suspicion of being a witch, carrying cattle for slaughter, etc. People are taking law in their hands. They do not have torches or pitchforks in their hands. Just their fists or feet, or bricks or any rod that comes in their hand. This is partly because police inaction. Escaped one such situation when I was considered a Pakistani spy during a war.
