Hey all working with rabid feminist group on face book to shut down another page.
Actually I brought the page to the admins attention. see,

any ways here is the link to the page we are asking to be reported and shut down:
https://www.facebook.com/FestivalSluts

and here is the feminist group i belong too on Facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/RabidFeminist

All of the women in those pictures appear to be willful participants enjoying themselves, so this this feminist group taking issue with them for with the pictures thereof?

Aside from the word "****", I don't really see anything wrong with the page. Just looks like a bunch of women having fun IMO.

I personally find the site bad for a number of reasons. The first is the title. Whether or not those women are allowing themselves to be posted on that site, the fact that they are being labeled sluts, and are celebrating in that, sends a negative message about women in general. They are portraying women as sexual objects, to be used, belittled, and disposed of.

The comments attached to many of those pictures are no better, as again, they portray the idea that women are just sexual objects.

The actions of the women also is quite sad. It is even more sad that such actions are becoming encouraged in some social situations.

As a woman who wears the label "whore" like a badge of honor (I've been called that so many times I've lost count), I found a couple of pictures more than objectionable. One picture showed a person with a t-shirt saying "Sl#ts get cut", and the comments of the picture were mainly from people seeing nothing wrong with it.

My main issue with FB and other sites that allow content such as this is that they take down pages about breastfeeding an infant because it's considered pornographic. I've seen pages about beating up "hoes" and cutting up "sluts" last pretty long on FB where women are degraded to the point where they are the targets of violence.

Watch some of the comments on this page. It's an indicator of the purpose behind it.

This FB page is obviously there to degrade and humiliate the women but posing as "loving sluts." I had a similar discussion with someone where I said you don't have to be religious to degrade someone in a sexual way. Even secular media and secular people do it, but instead of out right condemning "sluts" they just idealise a woman being "dirty," both sides view women as dirt.
We see comments on this page from the admin like "Imagine how many people came in it..." (Referring to a a woman's mouth.) "I bet she smelled of fish" (referring to a woman's genitals)
Because our genitals are smelly and dirty; of course, haven't heard that one before!
It should not be on FB which is a social site for everyone. This belongs on a pornography website.

Or, "silly sluts that's not a dick," was one of the worst I read, or, "she can smell her own sluttyness.n"

This, is a large part of the issue.

Their is a difference between celebratint sexuality and exploiting sexuality.

How is that line drawn, and was it the language used that crossed said line? Sexual provocation naturally incites lechery. It's easier to simply not observe or partake rather than resort to censorship.

On an appropriate website other than facebook, maybe you would have a point about censorship. We censor on RF so the forums can be appropriate for everyone, I don't see want is wrong with applying that to other social websites.
