C’mon, Frank...right off, they quote Acts 7:56-59. You know there’s another verse after that, right? I’m sure the author did. Quite misleading to omit Acts of the Apostles 7:60! How can they exclude it?! I know why.
What did God tell Adam would happen if he ate of the fruit?
Genesis 2:17....."But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die.”
Genesis 3:19...."In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.”
Any mention of an afterlife? Heaven....hell? No...just death.
When Jesus raised his friend Lazarus from the dead, where did Jesus say he was?
John 11:11-14...."After he said these things, he added: “Lazʹa·rus our friend has fallen asleep, but I am traveling there to awaken him.” 12 The disciples then said to him: “Lord, if he is sleeping, he will get well.”* 13 Jesus, however, had spoken about his death. But they imagined he was speaking about taking rest in sleep. 14 Then Jesus said to them plainly: “Lazʹa·rus has died".
The "souls" in these two accounts, died. Souls are not conscious after death. (Ezekiel 18:4) The majority of those who have died simply cease to exist for the present, and have the promise of a resurrection. They "sleep" in death until Jesus comes as king of God's kingdom, to wake them up, just as he did for Lazarus. (John 5:28-29)
It helps if you can make some decisions and put your doubts to rest. Limping on two different opinions make it difficult to settle on the truth and be confident about it.
Why do they use a comma in Ezekiel 18:4?
Ezekiel 18:4 NWT...."Look! All the souls—to me they belong. As the soul of the father so also the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul who sins is the one who will die."
What comma?
I found the comma here: Religious Forums
