My God! does this mean we've finally found the doorway to Bizzarro world?!?
Yeah, just walk through the doors of any church.
Even if we play by the rules (ye cannae break the laws o' physics, Cap'm. ), we still get somewhere:Don't know about a door to the Bizzaro world, but it does bring us 1 step closer to warp drive.
Depends on whether or not you are a Trekkie, doesn't it?Look up this on the internet carefully. Where does antimatter fit into the religious skeme of things?
Ok fine, I'll settle for an ISV.
Where is this news?Look up this on the internet carefully. Where does antimatter fit into the religious skeme of things?
Sadly, 'tis the nature of internet discussion fora.I only mentioned the ISV because it's another example of an antimatter powered vessel. I really don't appreciate everyone poopooing all of my points of reference.
It's a bit of a technical one as well, or at least, a human factor one. AFAIK, we don't know for sure that a human will survive 6 months in zero-G and isolation without going bonkers. Our not having reached Mars is a politics issue, not a tech one. If NASA and the other agencies were allowed to finish a project before the new administration cancelled them and were given adequate budgets to complete their work then it'd be a done deal.
I thought you meant that because the ISV design is a few storytelling handwaves away from the Valkyrie design.I only mentioned the ISV because it's another example of an antimatter powered vessel. I really don't appreciate everyone poopooing all of my points of reference.
What use is a bomb that explodes after 20 minutes? It's not as though a particle accelerator is field-portable.Engyo said:how soon before someone starts figuring out ways to weaponize this discovery?
Last year it only lasted for milliseconds. This year it's 20 seconds. At this rate of progression, it should be useful in weapons within the decade, I would imagine. What use is a bomb that explodes after 20 minutes? It's not as though a particle accelerator is field-portable.
