I fear the current SCotUS may not see it that way - even though it pretty obviously is.I smell a 1st Amendment violation.

I learned it from Hemant Mehta, the Friendly Atheist:I hadn't read that anywhere before. What a disgusting attack on the Constitution and Americanism. I found a link: https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2024/03/22/chaplains-public-schools-culture-wars/
And that is the reason they fight tooth and nails to keep it. And there is a real chance they will hurt democracy in the process, I think they already did.Still, even if they succeed, I think the die is cast for the continued waning of the American church's cultural hegemony.
That's what I expected from you. You don't actually have one clear report of an anti-Semitic action or speech to tell me about in connection with this thread. Why dont you call the articles authors instead?

Exposed, I think?
SCOTUS needs to be renovated.I fear the current SCotUS may not see it that way - even though it pretty obviously is.
I hear you, but who is going to do that? I may not have followed US politics as closely as before, but I didn't register any attempt by Congress to fix SCotUS or Dobbs.SCOTUS needs to be renovated.
It needs more diversity in order to more
broadly consider the issues before it.
Then better rulings could be crafted.
No one.I hear you, but who is going to do that?
Aye, they're doing nothing about it.I may not have followed US politics as closely as before, but I didn't register any attempt by Congress to fix SCotUS or Dobbs.
Everyone knows better in their own way.
That's why point and counterpoint exists.
If it proves bothersome, then take a break from making responses until your ready for another round.
Palestinians are descended from Muslem immigrants to Palestine who don't like their distant Jewish cousins who are decedents of immigrants to Palestine. You are, I suppose, aware that "semites" include Palestinians and Arabs -- and that Jews include many people who are religiously Jewish but not semitic, having come from other parts of the world after the diaspora.

Genetic studies reveal that modern Palestinians share genetic continuity with Bronze-Age Levantine populations and exhibit similarity with both contemporary Jewish and Arab-speaking Levantine groups.[2][3][4][5][6][7] Many Palestinian villagers claim ancestral ties to Arab tribes from the Arabian Peninsula that settled in Palestine during or after the Arab conquest,[8] while others trace their roots to Turkish, North African, Kurdish, Egyptian, and Turkman origins. Some claim Jewish[9] or Samaritan[10][11] ancestry based on oral traditions.
What does that have to do with antisemitism? I ask only because there is a persistent sophomoric effort to divest the term of meaning, an act which, ironically, serves only antisemitism. You are, I suppose, aware that "semites" include Palestinians and Arabs ...
A percentage of the Palestinians today are ancestors of immigrants from Iraq, Egypt, Arabia etc who had immigrated to the region in the early 1900's in search of employment which was natural. Capitol was coming back into the region. Thats why I say both Jews and Palestinians who have common genetic ancestry are immigrants. Of coarse far more Jews have immigrated back to Israel. The above is not just an inaccurate oversimplification; it's an inaccuracy that feeds into racially charged hatred and stereotyping.

The sources are all linked in the above excerpt for anyone who wants to look at some studies regarding Palestinian DNA and ancestry, which indeed include ancient ties to the Levant and Middle East in general.
I've never understood antisemitism (or any other bigotry, for that matter). Growing up in the Children's Aid exposed me early to all sorts, and the same with my years in a boy's private boarding school, run by Quakers -- so filled, again, with people from all over the world. My last roommate was a Jewish boy I liked very much. What does that have to do with antisemitism? I ask only because there is a persistent sophomoric effort to divest the term of meaning, an act which, ironically, serves only antisemitism.
The meaning appears to be changing. What does that have to do with antisemitism? I ask only because there is a persistent sophomoric effort to divest the term of meaning, an act which, ironically, serves only antisemitism.
Nothing there of substance, and you don't seem to be able to think of anything. That's what the article is for.
