I was really worried about Silky and Busia all day yesterday, since I took them for urinalysis and blood work on Thursday and I had not heard back from the vet about the test results on Friday. Finally, I called the clinic at about 5:33 pm and I got the recorded message from the front desk saying to leave a message. I kept calling but every time I got that message. The clinic closed at 6 pm, so I finally had to give up.
I was so mad at myself that I had not called earlier because I would have gotten through to the front desk. Because I was so mad at myself, I decided I am not going to cook the big turkey dinner as I had been planning to do, so I changed all my menu plans and decided not to cook the turkey dinner until next Tuesday, because by then I would know the test results. I know myself, so I knew I would not feel like eating a big turkey dinner until I knew those test results. I do not celebrate Christmas and I am all alone so it is really no big deal when I cook the turkey dinner, but I had to change all my grocery shopping lists which was a big pain.
After beating myself up for about an hour I realized it would work out better to cook the turkey dinner next Tuesday since I am off work until January 4, so I have plenty of time to cook. I did not really want to cook the turkey dinner tomorrow because that is a lot of work and takes a long time. I am expecting a phone call from my new would-be boyfriend and he will have me on the phone for hours so it is not a good day to be cooking a big dinner.
So here is what happened. Apparently, the vet called me with the test results while I was trying to call the vet clinic so that is why I never heard the phone ring. It must have rung busy when she called from her cell phone. That makes sense because the time stamp on my voice mail was 5:33 pm, which is exactly when I called the vet clinic!
Long story short, she left a detailed voice mail regarding the test results which I later found in my xfinity voice mail transcript and both cats had good test results. Busia’s urine is now normalized, having been on the prescription diet for about two months, and Silky, who has early-stage kidney disease, is holding stable with the same kidney values as last time she was checked three months ago. I was worried for nothing but these cats are my whole life so of course I was worried.
I am so happy the cats are okay, but I still have something to worry about, my new would-be boyfriend who does not want to live with my cats. I only have eight cats, big deal. I have such a huge house there is plenty of room for a lot more cats, so he is lucky I am content to have only eight cats.
