Any experience with Hate groups?

I didn't know where to put this. Some might say it should be in political, others might say philosophical. But the point is have you had any experience with hate groups. I have not. I live in Longwood and I checked and one is in this city. One classified as 'General' Hate...makes me feel worse to be honest. There are some in Orlando which isn't far from Longwood. That don't make me feel good either. Since I have no experience with them all I can do is watch their youtube videos. But one thing, among others, I would like to find out is the lower level members: Are they dedicated, confused, bored? Why to they latch on to something? I feel that it's more towards being confused and bored, maybe even they choose that path as some sort of revenge or a need to rebel.

I belong to what is often called a "hate group" & "right wing extremist group".

Supporting things like free markets, small government, gay marriage, & opposition to wasteful foreign wars can get one in a lot of hot water.

I lived in Topeka near westboro for a considerable amount of my childhood.
My parents resonated very well with them and were something of friends to the group.
My mother and Shirley got along very well, in particular.

I was into leftist politics when I was younger and it led to confrontations with the BNP and SDL (far right knuckle dragging apes with union jacks) on occasion. That's about it.

Your Right Wing Group would be considered Communist by US right wingers.

I don't think so.
They've some sympathy for our more capitalistic & free market ways.
They differ primarily on civil liberties & social issues.
So "commie" wouldn't apply.
I don't recall conservatives/right wingers even speaking any hatred in our direction.
The real venom is from the left.
Perhaps it's because we're more socially liberal, & would allow profiting from social liberties, eg, prostitution.

As I recall, People For The American Way had us on "Right Wing Watch".
This was back when we were pro-gay marriage, & they weren't.

I was exaggerating. But I am a rabid Lefty that is VERY anti-prostitution. Because I am against exploration of people in all forms.

Not in person, really. The closest I've come to that was arguing with Flip Benham at Pride one year. But I've talked to neo-Nazis, racist skinheads, racists of other sorts, virulent homophobes and transphobes, etc. online over the years.

Um, no. Do you even know what right-wing libertarianism is?

I'm in favor of voluntary exploitation.
I also think we have far far too many people in prison for victimless crimes.
And even for other cimes.

Do what you will to your own body. As long as you do not directly interfere with someone else's life. Too bad so many, especially hate groups, do not see that isolation based "sin" or whatever term they want to use is not an issue.

That sums it up for me.
It's also one reason I don't identify as a feminist.
The various flavors of it are rather authoritarian towards prostitution & organ sales.

They think they have THE TRUTH.

You know I like encountering someone on the right I can agree with on some key issues. You seem like someone who cares more about priorities in life than anything else.

I'm all over.....right & left, depending up on the issue.
It's all about liberty.

I've only run into online hate groups as I keep tabs on local ones and stay clear of them (I actually live near your area). When it comes to the real world I try to avoid head-on conflict. Even though I crave chaos I'm trying to keep my record clean. Online though my outspokenness has got me banned from facebook pages such as 'Britain's First'.

Westboro (Baptists) is a religious cult. Just wanted to clarify, they are distinct from "right-wing" political groups. In fact, they mostly show up at funerals of vets and scream things like God wants American troops to die and all sorts of nut things and the main opposition to this religious cult actually comes from the right-wing. I have never had any encounter with them, but I just thought to mention that

As far as hate GROUPS, I would say yes I have, but nothing I could never handle. In the UK my life was threatened openly in public by Islamic extremists. Also, like so many in the Bay Area, there have been black racists who have caused problems who have used racial attacks on me for being white - however, typically they attack, including violent assaults, the Chinese and especially the elderly Chinese in Oakland, California, and this is racist in nature and seldom ever get local news coverage.

I am a Hindu, I cannot honestly say that I was ever targeted by and "hate group". In fact, mostly I get a lot of positive attention. I live in California (though I am also a citizen of the world).

Some of my daughters friends at her University were targeted by black racists because they were Asian. Yes, these were not just "individual" persons doing the pushing and threats, it was an organized group of blacks thus "hate group" applies.

Sure which political or religious spectrum did you have in mind?

Thanks to the refugee crisis the far-left isn't bothering us so much anymore.

And the far-right is mostly undercover most of the day.

Which leaves me with the Allahu Akbar brigade. The good thing is that they usually dress a certain way which means I can avoid them. Also some of them are in Syria which is wonderful for me.

Not with any formal groups, though there are many haters (used in the most general way) here, and we have the dubious "honor" of holding the record for the largest Klan rally ever held, and today there are many churches here who use their faith and religion as an excuse to hate. We may tend to vote Democrat in this area because of the unions, but don't let that for a minute fool anyone into believing this place isn't very conservative.

I think you meant exploitation not exploration.
Depending upon your point of view about prostitutes.
I suppose one could explore a prostitute but it's not recommended. :p:p
When I was a police officer (detective) I made friends with prostitutes.
It's a good idea to be on the friendly side of them as they can save ones bacon.
And some did save my bacon.
Never partook of the fruits of their labors however.:eek:
