You can't beat British humor.

Some British humour is great. But much of it isn't my thing.

Watched it a lot as a kid, as it was my dad's favourite show.
I think I can still probably sing the entire theme song.

It has its moments.
But some of it is as bad as our worst.

I barely remember The Goon Show, but
I clearly recall liking some of the imports
back in the 60s.

I used to watch that show frequently. It was a reaction to the Beverly Hillbilly's, where country mice move to the big city. Here, it's the city mice in the country. This one uses the formula of one sane man surrounded by assorted lunatics.

We saw something similar with All In The Family and Family Ties: Conservative parents and liberal offspring become the opposite, and hilarity ensues.

Some British humour is great. But much of it isn't my thing.

It's mostly better than American humor. And German humor? It has about as much life as a virus last time I checked.

It worked because of great casting & good writing.
