Any "messiah" concept in Zoroastrianism?

In Judaism, as well as in many other religions, there is a concept of a savior who will save the people in a time of need. Varying from different religions, this figure may be divine or a man, he may be saving people spiritually or saving a people from earthly annihilation. Is such a concept of a “messiah” compatible with Zoroastrian theology? In specific, was Mithraism a messianic offshoot like how Christianity was for Judaism? Or did the Romans create the cult out of misunderstanding of the Zoroastrian religion, just as Gentiles did with Christianity and Jesus (who accepted his role as a messiah, but never meant to break with Judaism)?
