I'm not exactly sure if this is where I should post this, but it's my best guess.
I recently moved to Halifax to go back to university. I'm most likely going to be attending the University of King's College, but there are six other universities that haven't responded to my application yet. I'd prefer Dalhousie, but since I've been "out of the game", in terms of university, for a couple years now, I'm kind of leaning towards UoKC being the better environment for me, considering their smaller size yet comparable quality. Plus I really like one of their science programs.
I'm going to eventually be applying to med school, for neuropsychiatry, but I've got a ways to go first.
Anyway, the whole reason I started this thread was to see if there are any other RFers in Nova Scotia. I've only been here for a couple months now, and due to my introverted nature, I haven't managed to find a social circle that allows me to feel comfortable and enjoy myself as well as the company of others. It's always been rough for me to find and make friends, at least IRL. And it's even harder in a new place, by myself, and not being familiar with the local culture or people at all.
So I thought it would be neat if there happened to be any RFers around here that I could meet or message online. I'd truly appreciate and enjoy that, especially since I'd know that we'd share at least a few interests, if not more, thanks to mutual RF membership.
I fully understand that some people might be concerned/cautious of meeting someone they met online IRL, so that's fine with me, too, I'd still love the conversations we could potentially have over the Internet. I sometimes experience a lot of social anxiety, and it's just hard for me right now, because I've never moved somewhere completely by myself before. Before at least I'd moved to new provinces with my (ex-)girlfriend, which would help me ease into finding a number of people to spend time with. Now it's only me, alone, and it's just so different.
For the record, I'm currently living in Halifax, in the South End near a couple universities, but I could be moving to another town in a few months, depending on which university I end up deciding on. If anyone is in or near Halifax (or even in Nova Scotia as a whole; my goal isn't necessarily to meet up, but just to focus on building up my sociality and having nearby people to talk to about topics of mutual interest, whether virtually or IRL) , I'd very much love to talk to you, and I'd deeply appreciate the effort and time of anyone who responds to this.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and have a good one!
