Anybody up for an RF Jam/Band?

This idea came to me when Zayl and I were chatting on aim. Are there any musicians here interested in making some community jams? We could get a backing track down, then have people solo over it, and see how it turns out. Like, no matter what you play it could fit. For all we know, we could end up with a shred solo followed directly by somebody rocking the harmonica! If anybody's interested, this could turn out fun.

Here's a little start of what we'll need:
For the Backing track:
Guitar
Bass (I can take this space easily, and even theoretically the guitar part if nobody wants to. I'm just not such a good guitarist.)
Drums
Anything else nice.

Then we could get some soloists in when the backing is done and then finally get somebody to mix it up for us. For that I could probably get somebody from KMA to mix it. Is anybody interested? You don't have to necesarily be good, but if you play an instrument and can record, this could be fun.

Great idea!

I have a great recording program with over 200 tracks...

But a crappy soundcard.:(

You know what, if you guys were able to put something together, I would even think about buying it. :)

Cool, as long as there is some interest. Like I said, I can provide some bass and possibly guitar (and in a bind, the whole backing track with midi drums). Then we'd just need some soloists.

Or, possibly, we could cover something. Whatever the people want really.

I play jazz so I could do an extremely chromatic solo. It depends what the backing track is though really. I guess I could just stick to my trusty phrygian, count me in! :)

edit: http://www.guitarbt.com/

This website has a large selection of high quality backing tracks so peruse at will!

I think it would be neat to come up with something completely original. Maybe an RF theme song or something.

That's probably a little more ambitious (not to mention difficult), but it's something to consider.

Bass is already taken? Aww... :(
Heh, don't be all down like that. If you want to do the bass for a backing track, I don't mind. Or if you'd like, you can throw down a bass solo in there.
