I think that saying "the D. Party is socialist" is delusional.
The voters might have socialist ideas.
But the democratic party is center- right.

Socialism (which is something originated in Europe) implies a State that prevails over the private sector.
A State that has a universal healthcare, that has public state-owned banks, state-owned infrastructures and industries, and a state-owned pension system.

No offense...but the democratic party looks like a very glamorous, elitist lounge made up of private bankers, private enterpreneurs who sip cocktails and talking about cancel culture.
They couldn't care less about the people who can't afford healthcare.

Thankfully the right's attempts to demonize socialism isn't as effective as it used to be. People are waking up to the fact that there are flourishing democracies around the world where citizens don't have to worry about losing their homes and life savings just because someone in the family gets sick. Or that people in other counties pay a fraction of what we do for Internet services that are twice as fast as what we get here. There are countries where workers actually have some degree of protection against corporate abuses. People are learning that in many democracies the government works to ensure the well-being of the citizenry instead of always putting the well-being of corporations first.

We're supposed to be a nation of the people, by the people, and for the people. Sadly we've become the nation of the corporations, by the corporations, and for the corporations. It may well be too late for us to take our country back, but if we don't do it now we're doomed.

The reality is that REPUBLICANS ARE SOCIALIST! They just don't like socialism that benefits the common citizen. But they absolutely adore socialism that benefits corporations and the rich, like billions in corporate tax breaks, billions in corporate subsidies, and of course that black-hole of socialist spending the current 777.7 billion dollar defense budget, which has virtually no oversight.

Speaking of the defense budget, isn't it appalling that when we're spending 777.7 BILLION dollars every single year that congress had to pass a separate spending bill to fund veteran health care? A bill that 41 Republican senators originally voted against. They're all for unlimited military spending, as long as it's going into the pockets of the defense contractors and not actually towards benefits for the soldiers who fight our endless wars.

I can give a practical example. JFK had promised those elites he would be quiet back when he was elected (Ask Not What Your Country Can Do For You, etc...etc...)....
But afterwards he converted.
He wanted to change things. So he understood that those elites had to be stopped. Executive order 111100 was the first step. But the lounge-loving and carefree elites that had okayed his election felt betrayed and murdered him.
