Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I was considering saving up for a VR headset, but was hesitant as many of the games so far seem a little more than tech demos to justify the steep price in getting one.

All the same, I hear they are loads of fun and was curious as to those who do play VR games, if it's all its cracked up to be or is it just a passing fad like Kinect and PS eye was?

Will VR be a thing of the future? If so what are some of your favorite VR games so far?

What? Me worry?

First of all, you're posing this question to us on a virtual forum, lol. Secondly, my grandkids have these and I can tell you from personal experience some of the game scenarios are damned scary. I had to give up my turn when I started cussing and punching at an imaginary character behind me (I swear it was there actually stalking me). But I do think the VR is more an oddity than a reality (pun intended). I would wait awhile before investing.

A friend of mine got the VR headset and his biggest problem is a lack of real full games, there are a few but the market is very slim. Personally, I am waiting until the technology improves before I make the jump. I am sure, like all things in the video game world, it will vastly improve and drop in price.

I have a Gear VR that I got with my phone. It's great for watching movies because it's like a theater experience without paying for theaters. There's also some cool documentaries done with 360 cameras which I think will get bigger over time.
Gaming is somewhat limited by the phone on it. But I got to play Subnautica on an occulus and that was pretty awesome.
still, it's definitely well within the novelty stage.

I have the Occulus Rift 2. It's more of a novelty. I had to wear glasses which it fit over but was a bit uncomfortable. It wasn't as immersive as I thought it'd be. Maybe because at the time it was all tech demos.

I've Subnautica, maybe I should set it up again and try that. Some suggest using TrackIR for better head tracking.

Steam's Vive sounds interesting but it's expensive and requires a large open space.

Here's what you really need.

I have a Google Dream. Kids love it, mostly just use it for YouTube VR movies though. Came free with my Pixel phone, but it's better than I expected.

I've been curious. Are they stereoscopic?

It seems driving and flying games do well.

I've been enjoying the Rick and Morty VR games people have been posting on You Tube. Also Gorn, a pretty hilarious gladiator arena with plenty of blood and carnage to boot.

I got the Gear VR free when I preordered my phone. It pretty much sits on a shelf and collects dust. It's not as immersive as I expected, its uncomfortable, and the lens fogs. I'd hold off on the investment until the technology improves.
