Anyone still supporting Trump?

That's good that you draw the line between real and fictionalized violence. Although then there's always football, another sport I will not support. And then there's organized crime that gets its foot in the door.
I guess you mean American football, not football (soccer)? It's much the same as boxing. Injuries are not accidents but accepted results of (legal) aggressive actions. There are also injuries in soccer, but those are accidents or results of illegal gameplay which is punished.

You might be interested in checking out Ball and Enjeti on "The Rising". I don't know, might not be your thing, Scott. But your call.
I love the Hill - which must mean it's left wing. ;-) Sagaar is supposed to be the conservative position but he makes so much sense.

I agree with you about Sagaar. He's persuaded me to rethink my views on several issues, perhaps because he builds his cases based on facts, rather than on 'alternative facts', as they are called these days.

I think a lesson that might be drawn here is that we need to somehow significantly improve the accuracy of the information given to voters. I also think another possible lesson is the percentage of the population that cannot reliably assess character and make predictive conclusions about someone's behavior based on their assessments is greater than we might think. But even if that's true, I don't see what we can do about it. So, I think we need to focus on ameliorating disinformation and promoting accurate information.
What if voters have accurate information - and vote for Trump because of it?
It won't be easy. It might not even be possible. But we should try.

Three things to consider...

Restore the Fairness Doctrine in broadcast media.

Make it possible to sue media outlets if they exceed some threshold or test for propagating disinformation.

Find some means of abolishing -- or at least grossly restricting -- the algorithms social media platforms use that systemically lead people down rabbit holes of ever increasing disinformation.
Before anything of that finds its way through the law making process, what about an honorary badge, given by an independent organization, for accuracy in reporting?

I wouldn't vote for Trump again. I always perceived him to have less than desirable character, but I didn't believe he would go this low. I suppose I would vote for a third party, who has no chance to win. I've been bouncing between MSNBC, CNN, and Fox since the invasion. I hear the liberal media condemning the siege and I agree, but they inevitably mix in their liberal idealogy and it turns me off. Then Fox condemns the violence but some of them continue to propogate the lies and they turn me off. I start to wonder if there are not any normal Americans around here, those who believe in capitalism, the work ethic, independence, compassion, charity, truth, honor, patriotism, who love America and see her as the greatest nation on earth, despite her flaws, salute the flag, respect those with differing views, and value civility. Where did America go?

The only news I get is from my local newspaper, and the back and forth here on RF. I get to stay informed, but not obsessed.

Even though we might have an opinion about current events, there's only so much you can do about any of them. Best to keep your eyes in your surroundings, and make the best of it for both yourself and those around you, rather than be consumed by something that's happening hundreds or thousands of miles away that you can't really influence.
