Well of course I did... not cook those :fearscream:

:D

I think food is one of the best things in this life. Life is better when food is better. In Arabic we call thyme zaatar, a coincidence to zahatar.

I have seen a few varieties of zaatar/zahatar. Always mostly thyme, but with a few other ingredients like sesame. In my next life ( possibly tonight when I am dreaming) I would like to be a spice merchant. The first zahatar I cooked with was a gift from a jewish friend and had a list of about 5 ingredients, but with names I did not recognise. Hyssop was one of them -

Hey, can someone tell me trophies are ?

I've been absent for quite a while until recently.

When I logged on for the first time in ages, I received a bunch of well-wishing, but I don't know who from.

I hope I am not being considered rude or antisocial, because I had no idea how to respond.

Thanks.

Oh yeah .... I lost access to the email account associated with this forum. So maybe there are clues in there.

Trophies are status you get depending on the quality of activity you make here.

Each trophy is worth a number of points. Points are what count actually and trophies are what give them.

Just lately I got a trophy for having 500 likes. It's worth 40 points if I got my calculations right that day.

So who awards them ?

And where do I see them on my page ?

Is there a sticky somewhere about this new RF format (well, new to me). ?

I can't find them now, but a bunch of them appeared on my first log-in after nearly a year, a few days ago.

Trophies get awarded automatically as their requirements are met. Here is a link that explains trophies:

As to what trophies you acquired, I couldn't find a page to list them.113 points seems to be the maximum number can be acquired. But if you click on any trophy you acquired, a list of all trophies will pop up for you.

Got it. The frubal thing was considered a bit ... gauche ...peut-être ? :D

That word was in common use a while back. When there was only English, French and American. ;)

gauche
ɡəʊʃ/
adjective
  1. unsophisticated and socially awkward.
    "a shy and gauche teenager"
synonyms: awkward, gawky, inelegant, graceless, ungraceful, ungainly, bumbling, maladroit, inept

Well, now there's Arabic in the mix :)

Gauche... this kinda describes me. I turn inside out when I mix with people.

I feel that paranormal thing coming on again ...

I first got seriously paranormal in 1973. At the Sunbury Festival in Digger's Rest, Australia.

Harvey was already well paranormal by then ...

That last post led me to checking out more of Harvey's stuff.

I just found this ...

The Sabri Brothers ! I love these guys. I was introduced to them in the late 70s. Lost my vinyl years ago. Youtube, what a blessing.

"The Sabri Brothers are a Sufi Qawwali party from Pakistan. Sometimes, referred to as Roving Ambassadors for Pakistan. They were the first exponents of Qawwali to the West, when they performed at New York's Carnegie Hall in 1975."

When the night shows
the signals grow on radios
All the strange things
they come and go, as early warnings
Stranded starfish have no place to hide
still waiting for the swollen Easter tide
There's no point in direction we cannot
even choose a side.

I took the old track
the hollow shoulder, across the waters
On the tall cliffs
they were getting older, sons and daughters
The jaded underworld was riding high
Waves of steel hurled metal at the sky
and as the nail sunk in the cloud, the rain
was warm and soaked the crowd.

Lord, here comes the flood
We'll say goodbye to flesh and blood
If again the seas are silent
in any still alive
It'll be those who gave their island to survive
Drink up, dreamers, you're running dry.

When the flood calls
You have no home, you have no walls
In the thunder crash
You're a thousand minds, within a flash
Don't be afraid to cry at what you see
The actors gone, there's only you and me
And if we break before the dawn, they'll
use up what we used to be.

Lord, here comes the flood
We'll say goodbye to flesh and blood
If again the seas are silent
in any still alive
It'll be those who gave their island to survive
Drink up, dreamers, you're running dry.
