Cheer up, we've got Boris Johnson.Very good answer.
And she banned the hell out of assault rifles, and steered NZ thru Covid so far.
What a shame there are so few others, eh?

That could be effective in a very orderly society...oneA near total shut down everywhere at the same time for around three weeks is the least damaging and costly way to nip the virus in a fire break. The UK and the USA tried it too little and too late, and let it spread into the population.
Trump handled it poorly IMO, but this is primarilyThose countries that were ruthless in their shutdowns like New Zeeland. are already on the mend.
China is already running at economic level matching pre Covid. and is still having to isolate small outbreaks.
The UK is facing levels of infection matching the initial ones.
The USA has never had it under control.
It has not gone away, nor will it, any country that lets its guard down will be re-infected.
The massive extent of the American economic loss is down to Trump. his attempts at control have been pathetic.
the virus is now out of control as are the costs.
The long term costs to peoples health and the national wealth are unknowable, but they will be horrendous at a personal and national level. Trump has been in the drivers seat during the entire episode, he has failed to control the situation. the USA is in a worse position than most other countries. (the UK is in a similar boat captained by Johnson)
Trump blames China where the out break was first discovered.
However wherever it started or came from, Its control is inevitably down to individual nation leaders, and their actions.
That could be effective in a very orderly society...one
where government had the power to rigidly enforce it.
But it would never fly here.
Trump handled it poorly IMO, but this is primarily
cuz he improperly used the bully pulpit, ie, fomented
denial. But the real power in such a situation lies
with the states.
Oh.....yeah.....so we have....Cheer up, we've got Boris Johnson.
Heavens no!Are you saying that national leadership is unnecessary?
Only that the states have more power than the fed in such matters.Or that states can be left to do their own thing in a national emergency?
Our coping could be better. If your society lacks the necessary discipline in these situations, it is doomed to always fail in the face of a pandemic.
It is easy to imagine a situation when it could end in total collapse.
Swap?We have Boris Badenov.
Hmmmm I dunno... we could do with some TNT...No way.
You wouldn't like to see Natasha angry.
With the fuse already lit?Hmmmm I dunno... we could do with some TNT...
With the fuse already lit?
That is a totally invalid question. Parties don't have "views," only individuals do. Parties may well formulate policies and positions, but there has never been a policy or position on "race" from the Democratic party.PC aside, what are the Democrats views on race?
What Biden said was clumsy. He admitted as much and said “I shouldn’t have said that”."Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black."
--Joe Biden
No, which is why Trump should stop doing that.Do people of color need white people to tell them what is best for them?
The south is more liberal today. But the southern Demokkkrat party weren't liberals. As long as you understand that.Do you believe they are any more liberal today?
