Is it the place of anyone to speak for others, regardless of skin color? Do people of color need white people to tell them what is best for them?

New Is it the place of anyone to speak for others, regardless of skin color? Do people of color need white people to tell them what is best for them?
Not telling you what to do. But my personal advice is to tread cautiously as the race threads I've seen on RF before often resulted in hurt feelings as it's a sensitive subject.
For that reason, I don't want to post any further here. I'll just say that my views mostly align with the Democrats on racial issues, even if I don't understand all the Politically Correct language to use.

This thread is dedicated to race and politics. If you are a Black American Voter, are you stupid for voting Republican? The obvious answer is no, but it goes far beyond race
But what if they are wrong?Yes it is very much the place of some to speak for others. That is mostly what politics consists of, when you think about it. Certain people have the gift, or the job, even, of speaking up for groups that may not have found a voice themselves.

Then they are wrong. People have been known to be wrong. But what if they are wrong?
Do you have something specific in mind here?
It's certainly foolish for anyone to vote against their own interests, so essentially anyone who votes Republican and isn't a rich, white, christian male. This thread is dedicated to race and politics. If you are a Black American Voter, are you stupid for voting Republican?

Ah I see. So you're just indulging in a piece of party politicking. I thought there might be more to it."Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black."
--Joe Biden
The video pointed out anecdotal stories of white liberals acting like buffoons. Of course, one could probably find plenty of stories of conservatives acting like buffoons, some even at the highest levels of government. Biden, too, has had occasional moments of buffoonery.
I don't know what any of it proves. People, regardless of skin color, can vote for whichever candidate they wish based on their own values and philosophical/ideological position. The idea of pigeon-holing people into "voting blocs" based on race does seem questionable to me, although that's mostly the domain of pollsters and pundits.
Apart from that, there are plenty of Black conservatives who support Trump. This is no real great secret. I don't know what the latest polls show.
Have you heard of Jason Riley? Is it the place of anyone to speak for others, regardless of skin color? Do people of color need white people to tell them what is best for them?
LOL, so a corporate pick such as Biden is a better choice? It's certainly foolish for anyone to vote against their own interests, so essentially anyone who votes Republican and isn't a rich, white, christian male.
I just Googled this guy. Thanks for that info.Have you heard of Jason Riley?

But he's right, basically: Trump is a dogwhistling racist.
There are no doubt well-off black people in the US who may be natural Republican voters and who may vote for Trump. That's normal. But it isn't in the interests of most black people to vote in a racist again. And that particular comment by Biden does not seem to have damaged his support much with the black vote, according to the polls, unless I've missed something. So they seem to have understood it in the spirit in which it was intended. Unless of course you have polling evidence to the contrary. Do you?
I think pretty much anyone who isn't a rich white conservative male is voting against their interests voting Trump. That doesn't mean I think they're stupid, but it does mean I think I see a pattern of behavior others might be missing. But they're free to make that decision for themselves. I won't stop them in any way. This thread is dedicated to race and politics. If you are a Black American Voter, are you stupid for voting Republican?
