Are Ghosts always Demons?

Didn't know where to put this but I was told that ghosts are demons in disguise and using a Ouija board or screaming Bloody Mary into a mirror summons demons.

I know Ouija board responses are actually from the ideomotor effect but what if ghosts are not necessarily bad? I know some say there is an afterlife after death but what if a mother or father dies and they have a very young child, wouldn't their ghost rather live on Earth and 'haunt' the house/look over their child and spouse? What if a very young child dies, surely the ghost would wander the house to be with the parent?

Which brings me onto demons:

When people say a dog or a cat can see a ghost or demon, which one is more true? Or do ghosts/demons have a fear/aversion to both

Not all ghosts can be taken for demons. In fact, it would be safe to assume that none of them are. I know this sounds strange for a Christian to say, but I am not convinced that all the spirits floating around are evil or malevolent.

Yes, all ghosts are demons.

How do we know? Because God has told us what happens to humans when we die
Ps. 146:4: “His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts [“thoughts,” KJ, 145:4 in Dy; “all his thinking,” NE; “plans,” RS, NAB] do perish.”


His 'spirit' is his 'life-force'. When that goes out, all consciousness ceases. So there is no way we could summon a dead human from their grave and attempt to talk to them.

No, I would say not all ghosts are demons, in fact, I would say most ghosts aren't demons.

Was it bad my country founders rebelled from Britain? Not that I accept your story to begin with so it is not even a counter to how i may feel about things.

perhaps, but perhaps you should explain why. That also does not work on my second point.

The answer to this depends entirely on the tradition you hail from. What you consider a "ghost" to be, what you consider a "demon" to be, and so forth. Without knowing how you define these terms, it's difficult for me to answer. However, I do think I can say that in general, the traditions affiliated with contemporary Paganism would completely disagree with what you were told and would probably call it a bunch of nonsense.

I would not think any ghosts are demons or any demons are ghosts. Would they not be completely seperate beings with different intentions

I always thought of ghosts as something that is either good or evil, and demons as something that is always evil. We can't see either of them anyway

I do not see ghosts as being good and evil. I see them as just being. Not sure I believe in the existence of demons.

Some ghosts can be evil if their former bodies were evil. The ghost of a killer or a rapist could be evil right?

Though as I said, some people that died may not be ready to go to Heaven if they have someone they wish to watch over.

Again, it's confusing as the existence of bad ghosts or demons would mean something is wrong and they haven't been sent to the afterlife properly.

Is it dogs or cats they fear?

Evil is a word that is rarely used in the context it was intended for. I think there could be bad spirits...but not necessarily evil spirits.

There are theories about spirits getting stuck for one reason or another. I have never met a spirit personally so its something im open to but dont necessarily subscribe to.

I believe in ghosts, I just haven't had the pleasure of meeting one (a good one anyway)

I also believe in aliens but they would most likely be the same species as humans and would probably have the same animals and plants as we do
