Is the term in the phrase "lazy river" a pejorative?
I meant as applied to humans
And I don't see how a river can be lazy

A lazy river isn't even an actual river
To me a long piece of flowing water has to be naturally occurring to qualify as a river, perhaps from some mountains down to the sea
"Lazy river" is more of a name than it is a description

Seriously, I can't work. Now that is what it is, but it becomes a problem, if I were forced to work, because I am just lazy. In the end it would cause me harm and even cause me to commit suicide.

Do you mean what would determine whether or not the word is a pejorative? Because the opposite of pejorative isn't necessarily "positive."
But what would determine whether or not the word is used as a pejorative would be intent behind the usage and the subject being described as lazy.
If we were to call a sloth lazy, is that a pejorative? I wouldn't consider it so since 'lazy' is inherent to the species.

Am I understanding your reply? It is dependent on whether or not the laziness is a naturally occuring defining characteristic? If so, determining whether or not "lazy" is pejorative when referring to a person requires answering the question in the OP. "Are people lazy?"
