Are the French anti-Semitic ?

Your post implies that there is no legitimate reason to oppose the marriage of a Jew to a non-Jew.

I'm sure you can come up with a couple.

Peter

Hehe Rabbio, I like the way you put that !

At the risk of hijacking my own thread, I will answer your question, but perhaps it would make a good theme for a new thread. Lets see if there is any interest to do that.

So are there "legitimate reasons to oppose the marriage of a Jew to a non-Jew" ?

Here are a few, let me know what you think:

1) I want to name my son "Moishe".
2) I need someone who will "cheat" with me when I eat a ham sandwich.
3) Who else would be willing to dress like Vashti when I dress like Mordechi for Purim ?

Did I pass ?

That would be difficult if she wanted to name him Mohammed.

Why stop there? If you're already going to have pork, do it right!

By the way, I know one of these guys. Most of them are Jewish.

This comes to mind.

*Would you let your son wear a Burka on Purim?

Did I pass ?
With flying colors.

If you had looked right below my post you would have seen that Jay got it right. It's the 1946 film, "The Time of Their Lives." (The picture on the box is misleading. Lou Costello does not appear in modern dress in the movie.)

Peter

OK, for once you know something that I didn't know.
