Are women more likely to become parents than men?

I assume your age is relatively young. Wait until these women start to approach the age of 30. Their song will change.

May I ask why this is your expectation?

I find the insinuation that not wanting to have biological children is a "phase" women go through that is grown out of to be rather... uncouth. It is a perfect expression of how rigid our social norms are with respect to women having biological children. The day that a woman can say "I never want children" and she'll be taken seriously instead of cross-examined, second-guessed, and doubted will be a beautiful day indeed.

Because it is what experience has borne out.

I have no problem with women who don't want to have children. However, just as with most things regarding younger people, I take what they say about the long-term with a grain of salt, as their limited ideas and perspectives will often change dramatically as they gain age and experience.
