Are you married or with a partner of opposite beliefs?

If you are tell us how you deal with it and what hurtles you have overcome.

I am in one but we have yet to get married and such but when that times comes do I have to make her and her family feel good and just keep my beliefs in my pocket to make it easy or should I make an ordeal out of it.

I'm sure these are questions that arise every day.

I am engaged, but my beliefs are well known. Especially because I plan to make it my life. I was often scared to tell my girlfriend about what I wanted to do, for the money will be short, and it will involve lots of meditation and teaching a day. But she is very supportive, even of me shaving my head. HAHA... I actually think she's excited about that part. I think she wants to be the one who shaves it. But over all, we have overcome every obstacle that has come our way so far. I can only hope that it stays that way.

I think we hold similar views on most things. But even if there was something we disagreed on, it wouldn't be a big deal.

I am not, but as I was just discussing in an other thread, my grandparents on my father's side are. My grandmother is a non-denominational christian and my grandfather is mormon. It has caused some big problems with my father's family in the past, but I love them both.

My Gf is jewish. Her parents would like me to convert. I have told them no thanks. They said if we have kids they will be jewish period. I have to confess her parents annoy me at times....Her mother told her to find a nice jewish boy to date in the past but seems to think I am ok for a non-jew. Unfortunatly, Judism is not a big religion down here in the south so its a small field to choose from.

My father is a Christian. I would imagine he would be dissapointed if he knew I was not one....but not nearly as ticked as he would have been if he knew I was agnostic earlier in life. He was engaged to a Muslim at one time in his life and his father told him to break it off and he did. Because of that I think he would be cool with her being Jewish but he has not met her or asked her religion yet.

My gf and I have been very respectful of one another's religions. We talk about spirtuality daily and it is a tool for bonding between us. Neither of us would consider making the other convert. She is a reformed Jew which makes the two beliefs a little more compatable and both are on paper, accpeting of other faiths.
