"Astral Projection"

It looks like pretty interesting stuff, but something about the term "astral projection" makes a little nervous, like it's occult or something. After reading all that's been posted on that thread so far, it doesn't look like anything anti-Christian or occultic, but I thought I'd ask the Christian section first:
Is this astral projection stuff anti-Christian and to be avoided?

(Also, while I'm here, I may as well ask: Why is the occult bad in the first place?)

May I ask why does it make you nerves? And why does it matter if it doesn't really have anything to do with Christianity?
And I know I'm not Christian but my experience with Christian feeling the Occult is evil is mostly because they know nothing about it and they fell it's against god.

When I said that it looked like "it had nothing to do with Christianity," I meant that it didn't look satanic or anything. It looks natural. Non-occultic, non-sorcery, etc.

(Why is it that whenever I ask a question to Christians, the first response is from a non-Christian? This is consistent with every forum on which I've asked questions about Christian morals XD)

Okay, I understand. But I would say it(a little) Occultic(doesn't mean it's evil)

Are the questions you ask like this? In which someone that knows about it is more likely non-Christians. ^_^

I had tried to astral project, but failed. Read up lots of books on it, and tried the methods in them, but still cannot astral project.
