Atheism and Belief in Guardian Angels

Is there any philosophical position/person or religion that doesn't believe in God however believes in protective spirits? Whether or not they are simply nature spirits or are guardian angels?

Why? Mostly out of curiosity. I have used a similar idea for a world concept in an unfinished story a while back, and thinking back to it I am interested in seeing if others had a similar idea in mind.

Bonus: Is it possible for an atheist to believe in a 'The Devil' or Satan character (not viewing him as a deity)?

I used to believe in having individual guardian spirits without a god, but it was more of a personified extension of intuition and an overwhelming fear of loneliness that drove me to that idea.

It depends on how you define an atheist. Quintessence seems to have similar beliefs, for instance.

Ditto for the second question. What is a Devil exactly?

Materialism/Animism
I am a materialist, an atheist, and also an animist and I belief in things like ghosts and animal spirits. Some of them are protective.

I believe that weird things happen which probably have a material explanation we simply havent found / can't find. As for guardian angels, I personally don't believe but my family has told me some strange stories about things that they've witnessed especially after my father's death. My mother for example, though I wouldn't call her an atheist, she certainly believes in "angels". As for god, I think she's torn about it because we come from a pretty religious Jewish family.
