Atheists favorite religious traditions?

I was just wondering if any of the atheists on here had religious traditions they were partial towards? I can think of a few folks like Richard Dawkins ( church of England) or Sam Harris (Buddhism) who are atheists but still have sort of a soft spot for some traditions. Personally I have a soft spot for Catholic traditions, and the Hindu Shaivism sect. Maybe quite a bit for greek polytheism as well.

Just a bit though cause i'm totally not obsessed with Athena or anything. Nope not at all...

Edited to add: as I often indicate, I don't see god-belief as a central feature, let alone as a requirement, for any well-kept religion.

I find myself in sympathy with the modern pagans. Mostly because I like much of their morality. The woo-woo stuff can get rather annoying, though.

Aside from Buddhism, it might come as a surprise to some that I do find the paranormal and the occult to peak my interest. Like traditional witchcraft for instance. Not modern Wicca.

I think primarily for the religious flavor it brings. The quality of mystique through its practioneers, the softness of dark colors, and prodding into the unknown that I find intriguing far far more than my belief in any of it as being true or accurate.

Your probably right. I just have a romantic viewpoint. Its likely from my own perception, and the flavor that I get from it on a personal level.

I find that the symbology and imagery involved with ancient traditional arts are more interesting than any actual practices and ritual. So little is actually written about the occult and how symbology plays a role traditionally. So little is written other than the mythology surrounding occult symbolism. I find its practitioners to be interesting people which is where the romanticism comes in.

For me it has always been salah from Islam. The ritualistic worship/prayer in Islam is very meditative and structured that for a compulsive person like me it is relaxing and humbling. It really frames your place in the universe and removes the ego and pride of man.

The "false atheism" is the denial. The denial of all, since "in the beginning - God." (by my memory, Bible). So, until "false atheists" are physically alive, they are not 100 percent "false atheists".
