Atheists: what would it take?

Jesus said...
The gospel writers report that Jesus said...

Most of the Pentateuch. I know it's being disputed but that it ... its disputed. So?

I believe Jesus more than the sceptics who do not believe in God.
No. You believe the gospel writers. But probably Jesus and all the Jews of the time believed so (since there was no proper history and archeology yet).

There are good (archeological and writing style) reasons for disputing the traditional authorship of the Torah.

How so? I simply want to know what sort of evidence you are claiming. How do you guard against confirmation bias? if it can't be done 'scientifically', in what sense *can* it be done? Why can't it convince a skeptic that is open minded?
They still don't have to.

My contention is that it always happens in mythical descriptions - exaggeration.

What I say is correct - the Bible describes people and events as real and true. How sceptics vie it is a different story. Fact is, the Scriptures do not pretend to be mere stories or myth. Jesus accepted it is true and therefore I do as well.

Jesus did not and neither do I. Who am I to argue?

A human? If you look at the evidence and are not convinced, why say that you are? If the subject is that important, why not look at ALL the evidence and make an informed decision?

There is no evidence against it. If Jesus, who is God, said it true its good enough for me.

What is the evidence Jesus is God? What is the evidence any God exists at all? What is the evidence that Jesus said this?

There is plenty of evidence the Biblical stories are not true. That the evidence is rejected by those with an agenda doesn't mean the evidence is invalid.

And nobody needs to take 'scriptures' seriously either. Unless they are backed up by actual evidence, they are simply stories told to give power to the clergy.

Oh, the evidence is overwhelming. Those of faith in God have no problem accepting the evidence. It's that simple. That is why we (Christians) believe in God - faith based on the evidence.

And once again, what evidence? Please give some details.
