What's Bharatism?
I think he either meant it as a joke (i.e. poking fun at the fact that the term Hinduism relates to a region, i.e. bhArat [India in English]) or he might just be using it as a catch-all to mean that he respects non-Hindu bhAratiya/Indian religions/philosophies too, like Buddhism, Jainism, etc.

I would term Witzel as a racist who thinks that prestige can come only from being Indo-European, and not from a people among whom these Indo-Europeans merged, accepted their Gods and Goddesses, and thus saved there culture from being completely erased as it happened in Europe and Central Asia. Zoroastrians have always been thankful to India. India saved the culture of Iranian and Indian Indo-Europeans. Thanks Bro.

Did you read the quote in its brAhmaNic context?

What's Bharatism?

'It's pretty much anti-non-Indian drivel.'

-Thus sayeth critics of Hinduism and India :p

It is chauvinist Hinduism, that which thinks vimanas (puranic aeroplanes and fighter aircrafts, one could shoot arrows from these vimanas) and astras (atom bombs and hydrogen bombs) are a fact (and, of course, all science originated in India), and that Aryans were indigenous.

Quite the broad brushstroke there, Gramps.

I'll admit: that's one awesome picture. Very beautiful - the amount of work that must have went into that painting/drawing...that's what I call visual poetry.

That is the Indian record but where did Alexander find Drahaes? I am not able to trace it. He found Areias (Aryas) in Herat. The Greeks mention the Areian (Aryan) capital as Artacoana. In Alexander's time it was administered by a satrap called Satibarzanes (which corresponds to "Satya Vriddhi" in Sanskrit).

Hey, I see Mount Menaka in Jamshid Yasht or whatever it is. I will go through it. :surprise, not a surprise: :)

Ah,some even say Druhyu cognate with Avestan Druj and Celtic Druids :)
