Australia: Neo-Nazi leader Thomas Sewell says he could 'become a terrorist' as far right rhetoric escalates and movement grows

'Warning: Distressing content.

Prominent far-right activist Thomas Sewell has told supporters he could "become a terrorist" and "start killing people" if child protective services intervene and remove children from neo-Nazi families...

...Sewell's statements falsely claim that authorities threatened to remove children from families that hold far-right beliefs in the United Kingdom. The UK Home Office told the ABC that Sewell's comments are "not accurate" and described them as "misinformation".'

It would have been nice if the UK home office detailed the precise nature of how Sewell's comments are misinformed in my view since their seems to be some sort of expectation given for families to counter these narratives in their communities, but I'm glad that law enforcement are keeping a close eye on these groups.

The UK just saw that fail as social media misinformation recently fueled riots there. Trying to point out how has actually repeatedly failed in many countries, especially as social media algorithms work in such a way that misinformation ends up burying real information.

That's your responsibility to disseminate information and to determine for yourself what's true or not. It's certainly not somebody else's job to do all the thinking and determining for you.

Employing censorship by others who determine for others is absolutely idiotic and dangerous for free speech , free press, and the free distribution of information.

Ok, but how are we supposed to un-bury real information in real life if we don't have it to begin with?

The article said the UK Home Office described Sewell's comments as "innacurate" which implies to me there is some kernel of information upon which Sewell has constructed a false narrative.

So how do I propose to a nazi that the narrative is false without the correct information given that they don't accept the UK government as an authority and all the Home Office has left me with is an appeal to authority?

What's idiodic and dangerous is to ignore the dangers and destruction social media creates. Around the world it's led to violence, instability and even genocide. You might as well say it's dumb to regulate tobacco and insist they should be able to do.
You're claims also cannot explain why countries with hate speech laws are more free than America.

Sewell wasn't even censored, his views are published in the OP article.

The bottom line is one can say illegal crap, they just have to pay the price if it is determined to be hateful.
