Any reason for this war, or are you just a fan of state-sanctioned random killing?
To be frank, given the way some areas of the world have been acting(Israel, the Middle East as a whole, ect) I think colonialism might do them some good. Give them something to ***** about anyway. Though this time I suggest we invite the Chinese and such. Maybe when the Levant grows the **** up we'll give it back to them. But as long as they keep smearing their own **** on the walls and refuse to play nice & share their toys, nope, sorry you've lost collective rights to statehood. I am however willing to exclude Kuwait & Jordan from this, along with Turkey(for those who erronously believe Turkey is part of the middle east).

I agree with you to an extent, although apparently they really had reformed themselves and were remorseful. You don't believe in second chances?

No. I don't believe in 'mistakes'. I feel if you need a second chance, you didn't respect your first chance.
Don't think I'm downplaying what they did. They full-well knew that drug smuggling carried the death penalty in Indonesia, they chose to try it anyway and got caught. In that regard, I think the outrage is a little overblown. I agree with you there. What I take issue with is the flippancy you seem to take with condemning two people to the firing squad; was what they did really so heinous that they deserved to die? Granted, heroin is a heinous drug, but they had served ten years in prison, become exemplary prisoners and turned themselves around for the better. It seems wasteful and cruel to just shoot them after all of that.
Indonesia could have earned quite a lot of diplomatic brownie points for something as trivial as indulging Australia on the lives of two prisoners.

I see what you're saying and to an extent agree, but why did it take a potential firing squad to make this happen? These guys are being judged for their crimes by Indonesia, not their current (former) life attitudes. Did they deserve to do? No. Do I support the death penalty. Not for drug supplying and trafficking. If people want heroin, they'll feed their addiction any way they can. The suppliers just meet a need that will exist whether they are punished or not.
I also think we gloss over the issue of rating the crime. Sure, we'd feel differently about rapists or paedophiles but we all seem to compare our own laws to theirs as if they're relatable. I don't think they are. 10 years is enough based on our application of 'justice'. I think this is one of the problems in evaluating this case.
My flippancy comes from my distaste for people who make stupid, greedy risks that don't pay off and look back with regret. I can't find compassion for people who only care about consequences if they get caught.

Yes you should fight and support the drug dealers, it would be a honorable fighting to support the evil.
