I'm thinking of going to this college (or most probably, doing the courses online) nest year. It's called "Avalon College of Druidry". It's not a faith based college, anyone is welcome, but their courses are mostly about learning to be either a Druid, Bard, or Ovate. This is not the college I will transfer to later, but I think I'll go here before I transfer to a university. What do you think?:

Wow! Check out the courses they offer! Taoism, Buddhism, Wicca, and many others in philosophy! I can't wait for this! :woohoo:

It looks like a cheap web site.

Aren't there communities and such you can jion to learn this as well as courses in Universities on comparitive religions and philosophical couses of the kind?

It just seems like a waste of money to me. I took a greek mythology course in University and once a week we would have group discussions involving the opinions of various religious and ethnical backgrounds. Other courses were available but I never looked into it much, I left University.

It is only 60 bucks a course, and that's why it appeals to me. I won't be going to college full-time for another two or three years (Though I graduate from high-school next year, I want to put off college, and travel a bit).

It looks nice. I'd like to take a few courses there myself. :D But I'd make sure that you gathered as much information as possible before making the commitment. It's important to make sure you'd have the time to spend on it. I noticed some courses required books also, which I assume you'll have to buy in addition to the class. It may be just as beneficial to buy some of the books they list and learn on your own. Maybe you could even find a few people here on RF or elsewhere who want to learn the same thing, then you could all learn together and have prepared discussions or something.

Is the college accredited, Druidus? If so, by who? Will any credits you earn at it transfer to another college?

No, Sunstone, it is not. Sadly. I just found that out. But it is in the process of being accredited. Too bad that could easily take a couple of years. :(
