I hardly ever go to the movies as I have an aversion to paying too much for popcorn or having my shoes stick to the floor. That and I have this rational fear of losing control of myself some day and stomping some one's cell phone.

I wait till movies are released on blue ray. If you have not seen the movie Avatar, you really need to see this one.

I cannot believe I was involved in this movie so emotionally. This movie actually had me rooting against big business and the military. Strange days indeed.

I am trying to decide to as you did and buy it on Blu Ray or see it in 3D Cinema, surely one is better than the other :S

I'll buy it when the longer (director's cut) version comes out. The theatrical release version was shorter than Cameron wanted, so I'd like to enjoy it as he intended.
I too rooted for the blue monkeys. It was all about their property rights, & standing up for themselves against thieves & louts. A very libertarian movie for me.

Well, how annoying. Bad enough there were absolutely no special features on my dvd (I don't have blu-ray yet :(), now I find out there's going to be a director's cut?

I feel ripped off.

Too bad you didn't get to see it in 3-D, it was quite the experience. Simply a gorgeous movie.

With Cameron, he's always making a movie that's bigger than a theatrical release will allow. Aliens is the best example.
The extended version makes Ripley's relationship with Newt much deeper, & changes the character of the movie a great deal.
For me, it's the finest movie ever made. Now if he made one about bacon, that could be even better.

I went to WalMart last night to buy basic stuff, and saw it was not only out on dvd, but the shelves were already mostly empty! All over the store!

I gotta hand it to James Cameron. He made a movie people love.
