What is the Bayan and why is it more significant to Babis than Baha'is?
Does anyone know anything about the Baha'i/Babi split?
Does anyone know anything about the Modern Babi/Bayanis?
There were two Bayans an Arabic Bayan and a longer Persian Bayan.. EG Browne translated parts of the Persian Bayan into English and commented on it in his book..
Any way the Bayan is recognized by Baha'is as an authentic revealed scripture. It was translated into French many years ago and portions have been translated into English but these are considered provisional translations.
Many of the laws and ordinances of the Bayan for the most part have been abrogated by Baha'u'llah so we Baha'is do not follow the laws and ordinances of the Bayan.
Babis was the common term for the followers of the Bab .. In Baghdad in the year 1863 Baha'u'llah declared that He was
Him Whom God would make manifest. His followers came to known as Baha'is.. Mirza Yahya or Subh-i-Azal also later put forth his claims and so his followers were known as Azalis..
There are very few if any actual Azalis from that early period..but some have assumed this name and the name of Bayani and are what I would term self styled "Bayanis"... who presumably follow the Bayan whether the Persian or Arabic.
