Guitar's Cry
Disciple of Pan
Meat Loaf's (but more correctly Jim Steinman's ) third Bat Out Of Hell album was released on Halloween 2006.
What do all you who have heard it think?
As a Steinman fan, I was incredibly disappointed that he did not produce it and that only seven of the fourteen songs are written by him. I personally found some of the arrangements awkward, as they deviate from the operatic rock style that the other Bat albums featured and have more of a nu metal sound. I also think the echo effect on his voice was used a little too liberally.
However, many of the songs are addictive. "I'm Still Alive" is an amazing song in my opinion, as is "What About Love." I found "Cry To Heaven" an amazingly sweet little song. Meat's vocalizations on "Bad For Good," sounded great, though Steinman's version on his only solo album Bad For Good, was far superior in arrangement and instrumentation (again, in my opinion).
