Bayanis was a name applied to those Babis who followed the Bayan revealed by the Bab as opposed to say the majority of the Babis who followed Baha'u'llah and later were known as Baha'is...
Although only a few years had elapsed since the birth of their Faith, the Bábís in Persia were bitterly divided among themselves, mainly for theological reasons. In Qazvin, the home of Tahirih, where a large number of Bábís resided, there were four sects, each bearing a name. One was identified with Quddus, another with Tahirih, another with Mirza Yahya, and one known as Bayanis, the followers of the Book of the Bayan.
