Be afraid...

...of being afraid. Its good sometimes, probably kept the lions from eating our ancestors into extinction, but other than that it's bad. It clouds the mind and judgement.

Is there a healthy sort of fear that motivates individuals so they don't lay on the couch all day and do nothing?

Existentialist agnst os what I recognize that as. Basically anxiety over an unfulfilled life.
Good point.

The only thing to fear, is fear itself.

Perhaps fear would be a better word and a better motivator to get off the couch but then again one might also wanna think about love and joy being a motivator as well. Also having the ability to think ahead and not wanting to look back and think I should've did stuff while I can and now I can't. I'm not pointing any fingers. Sometimes all I wanna do is nothing.

Better to fear the known rather than the unknown perhaps, given that the latter might encompass all too much.

Stress and anxiety have their roles to place in modern day humanity.

Those who qualify as having anxiety/panic disorders are people whose natural responses are disproportionate to the stimuli they encounter.
