Compared to Dutch, my native language, a lot of the words and sounds are very similar, and occasionally there's a word that sounds exactly the same.
And yet, as someone who's never really studied the language in-depth, I can't understand it.

So it sounds like a gibberish version of my language, lol.

Dutch and norwegian are very similar languages, so it is not strange that you think Norwegian sounds almost like dutch
