Become a character

As some of you may know I am in the process of trying to write my first book. I have the basics of everything and the plot and main characters and all that. I'm working on the outline for it as well. First chapter already done (based on a previous short story of mine) and just needs some tweeking.

Here's the deal. I'm wondering if anyone would like to have a minor character (involvement yet to be determined) based on them. I thought it would be a neat idea to involve some people here and perhaps get interesting ideas I might not have thought about myself.

The story is science-fiction and will be based on another planet (Earth-like) with the main characters coming from Earth (cross breeds of Earth and the alien planet).

If you have an idea for a character biography based on yourself please feel free to tell some information. I'm basically looking for temperment, knowledge, physical descriptions, social abilities and such. If you can think of what kind of work this person may do (keep general...government, merchant, spiritualist, farmer, etc.) that would be cool as well. Antagonist/protaganist...bad guy/good guy.

Like I said, just searching for minor characters and ideas. If interested in sharing please do so. And in the hopes that I will ever be published you may see yourself in a book on the shelves.

The other planet is dying...strife and wars over resources are breaking out...there is a world government trying to keep as much peace as it can...but some are profitting off the shortage of resources and using it as a way to get rich off of others' suffering. Well advanced society that is turning for the worse rather quickly.

Pretty tall and buff for a girl. Sort of medium complexion (brown hair/hazel eyes).
Good sense of humour that can put people at ease. Very introverted, though, so once they are at ease, I sut up and try not to talk to anybody. I have a horrible trait of always trying to keep people "honest" and "fair," even at the expense of friendships, and I'll try to do it in very tactless ways. I also tend to be very blunt and tactless in general. I don't care if I'm a good guy or a bad guy.

Hehe ! (the idea of being a character in a book).............Boffin like bent balding professor; quiet and unassuming, kind, but oh so impractical. Oh, I couldn't be a bad guy..........that wouldn't do,,,,,,,

I don't know if I'd make a GOOD character or not, but here goes:

A) Skinny white guy, smiles and laughs a lot. Sort of the Macguiver (sp?) type with technology. Definately more bark than bite, especially for being on the small side. Helpful in that he supports his friends, often at his own loss. A leader on the outside but grows tired of it on the inside, often longing to be alone. Would have to be a good guy, although bored with the "campaign". Dreams of escaping the responsiblities and getting to someplace "exciting".

B) Skinny white guy, only laughs at the ironic. An expert with weapons (just for the story in reality). His tongue cuts as deep as his knife. Obsessive determination to not only win, but to humiliate and destroy his enemies. Leads with an iron fist. Would have to be a bad guy. Childish desires for women and romance (always rejected). His soul is that of a helpless child.

Short and stout. Often referred to as hobit or stubborn dwarf by co-workers (your not the only one known for being a hobbit on RF, Feathers ). Known for his comical relief. Specifically his "the world is coming to an end attitude". People have often said that of me. For instance, I have been told that if someone gets injured on my fantasy football team, that I act like the world is over (I guess I'm just over dramatic). Also very competitive despite being vertically challanged. I have been told that if I were to play Michael Jordan one on one (in his prime) that I would expect to win even though I'm terrible at basketball.

Stronger than expected for being small in stature (or maybe that's all in my mind). Small man syndrome. I am talented mechanically. I like to work with my hands, specifically on cars and other mechanical devices.

I have always referred to myself as the invisible person. From youth I felt like I had always been overlooked. When I was a kid, the teachers would ask for homework from each student individually, but would miss me all the time. This is the same today. I am often overlooked in work, and in normal conversation. Don't know if that is due to my height or what. If I was taller than a blade of grass, maybe I would be noticed more .

How fun! I think I might make a good, original character...I'm caucasian; a reasonable height; I have dark hair in a slightly messy style; wear circle-framed glasses; and I have a lightning bolt shaped scar on my forehead.

Just kidding. Actually, my character has probably been done too many times before. Appearance wise, Christian Bale could almost be considered my twin (if he was more handsome, that is, and if he had blue eyes). Personality--true Californian...laid back like the beaches, rugged like the mountains, cool like Hollywood, and also very full of myself. Somewhat Byronic in attitude--brooding with a darkly serious side, but fun-loving and cavalier when I'm out to have a good time. Very flirty with girls who catch my eye; passionate, but always looking for someone new. Trained in ninjitsu (no, seriously), and boxing, and the use of firearms I'm good at fighting, but seldom see a reason for it. I would be a good leader if I actually cared enough about a cause to lead anyone, but I don't. As a character, I'd probably one of the chaotic good guys; my morals are sound, but I'd be likely to steal a spaceship for a joyride with the galactic princess--even if it jeopardizes the mission. I'd also be throwing parties with the aliens.

Alright. I'm 5'10'' and in pretty good shape - nothing that would turn heads, but I don't have a gut or anything like that. I try to exercise every day - usually running, hiking, lifting weights, or riding a bike. I have short, brown hair and really green eyes (they get even greener when I wear green, which gets girls attention :bounce). I haven't used a comb in my hair for as long as I can remember. I don't have time for stuff like that so I just put some pomade in it, mess it up a little bit, and I'm out the door.

As for my personality, I'm shy around people I don't know, but you can't get me to shut up around people I'm friends with. I like to have a good time and hate being on my own. I think that I hav adult ADD because I lose interest in things very quickly and can't sit still for very long. It takes me a while to trust people and once I have their trust it is easily lost. I have no problem cutting people out of my life to protect myself from getting hurt. I can be too judgemental, but also very sympathetic. I hate seeing people suffer in any way and I can get down when I see bad things, even if they are trivial, happening to people. I'm pretty funny if you can stand some dry humor. I usually have a smile on my face and am a happy person. I love a good debate and can hold my own. I'm methodical, creative, analytical and make calculated decisions. I like order and organization around me, but have random spurts of spontaneity. Sometimes I have to be talked into these spurts.

I can't see myself as being a bad guy. I have a hard time even making an angry face. When I do get angry I tend to bite the inside of my cheeks out of frustration. My sister has made fun of it so much that I can't keep myself from laughing when I do it.

Hope that gives you some ideas. I tried to make myself sound as interesting as possible.

I want to thank everyone who has posted so far with these wonderful character sketches. This will give me a great place to refer to should I need the basics for a character I may need. I don't know if all will be used or exactly what type of role they may be in for sure. That will be determined as the story takes shape and a life of its own. I will be sure to update to let you all know if I use someone and the character name as well.
