Put yourself in his shoes: as a politician, you are kinda like a marketer. You want as many people as possible to endorse you. While I'm no fan of Linda Sarsour, I generally can't fault Sanders for appreciating any support he gets right now.

It occurs to me that this is such a small fault, if it is one at all, compared to the problems with Trump, his main competition so far.

Sanders is happy to quote someone else's supportive words. Trump would write an adulatory essay for himself and then quote himself as an expert on why everyone should vote for him.

Google antisemitism, Nation of Islam, Muslim Brotherhood and Ayaan Hirsi Ali in relation to her. She was recently removed from the Women's March board due to her views, actions and associations. The Women's March being a left-wing group

A lot of people on the left ignored it for while or made exceptions that wouldn't be extended to other groups as many do with NOI. After all Black Caucus Congress members hug and shake hands with Louis Farrakhan in private meetings yet scream about King in public.
