The common folks didn't get any yet.

Leaders are first now in this day and age. Seems a captian jumping ship before the crew and passengers is quite acceptable now.

Nice role model.
I can understand why leaders would get vaccinated first.
Especially since Jill is a doctor.
Sorry....couldn't resist.
But seriously, it makes sense.

Not when its predicted people will not receive any vaccination until spring. So much for the saving lives bs.

And if he didn't get it, we'd hear from the Right, "oh, Joe is too scared to even get it? How can he tell the rest of us little people to be guinea pigs for something he won't do himself?"

Give me a break.

Unless you're similarly incensed about Mike Pence also getting vaccinated this week?

To be fair though, he is pretty old so he should be among the first ones to be vaccinated either way.

Sure they are, but if Biden withheld it would show he doesn't have confidence. If he gets it now, he is selfish. From the views of those right of center, it is a no-win situation. Why not demonstrate leadership and faith? I see no problem with it.

It does help to assert a confidence in it, and its safety. He's not expecting us to have anything he's not having.
See? That's what leaders do during a pandemic. They lead by example. Not by declaring "I don't take any responsibility" and lie about it at every turn.

Oxford/Astrazeneca is selling their vaccine at cost. It is about 10 times cheaper than Pfizer and Moderna and can be stored under normal refrigeration. Because it is so low cost, it is anticipated that it will be widely distributed among poor nations. In fact, the UK, unlike the US, is participating in COVAX.

Only the privileged.

Let's face it.

COVID-19 vaccine: Low-income countries lose out to wealthy countries

No matter where you are.

That is a straightforward consequence of a global capitalist system. Richer countries can afford to buy more vaccine, so they get more vaccine. Even if it's more than they need, and poorer countries are left without.

Why did you vote for Trump again? You think Mr. America First cares about people in "****hole countries" getting vaccinated?

Some lives are more important than others.
Especially when they have titles.
Certainly no important people found the rural areas. That's for sure.

Texas doctors in rural hotspots left out in cold on vaccine

I don't see Biden stepping up to the plate either.
