Biden Out!

Biden did the right thing for his country and his party. The dynamic of the race is completely changed now. Now it is the Republicans with the only senile old duffer at the top of the ticket. I will be very surprised if anyone but Harris surfaces at the top of the ticket, and she will get to choose a new VP to debate Vance, if Vance isn't too afraid to debate. Harris is likely to draw more younger voters to the polls, not to mention their traditional demographic advantage with women and people of color. Also, she will be able to run on the record of her administration, which is far better than the public currently believes. What the party has needed is someone who can sell its accomplishments.

I can't wait. Maybe not a neutron bomb like AOC who is still too young anyways, but I'll settle with the hydrogen chameleon. .

Wow! Big news.
An honorable move on Biden's part, and obviously for the good of the nation (i.e. better odds of beating the Insurrectionist).

Our nation must do all that we can all do to beat the Insurrectionist, in order to prevent the destruction of the Great American Experiment.

Biden can now leave with this dignity and on his terms. As it should be.
Everyone should have known he would drop out. Its best for him, his party and the country.
Its hard to continue when all your big supporters are against it. I had high doubts that he would have been confirmed at the dem convention next month and that would have been the worst way to go IMO.

Six more months and then its less stress, more family and more golf that will dominate his life instead of politics.

Hmm, I wonder who her VP will be. Gov. Shapiro maybe?

Told all my friends on Friday he'd be gone by Sunday.

It is unfortunate that he did not resign the Presidency immediately, in favour of Harris. That would have given her extra points as incumbent, even if only for 5 months, and increase the likelihood of defeating Trump.

However, I still think that the Democrats have brought their likely defeat upon themselves by not have the spine to stand behind their man with their full support. If he won, you'd get the same outcome -- President Harris in pretty short order.

I would stuggle to vote for Joe. I will vote for Harris and I think she will win. I bet you a case of your choice of Canadian whiskey.
