Biden says it is time to drop the filibuster rule:

Biden calls for dropping filibuster rules to pass abortion rights into law - CNNPolitics

President Joe Biden said on Thursday that he would support making an exception to the filibuster -- the 60-vote threshold in the Senate needed to pass most legislation -- in order to codify abortion rights and the right to privacy through legislation passed by Congress.

However, despite Biden's newly announced support for the filibuster carveout, his best bet in doing so would be next year -- and only if Democrats gain at least two Senate seats and hold the House of Representatives, an extremely tall task.

They need to do it now. If they lose in November the Reps will do it themselves and go after Free States. They need to play hard ball now.

One thing that worries me is the economy and people's general ignorance of what causes changes in the economy. Though Biden himself has done nothing to make the economy take the turn that it did people are still blaming him. Inflation is international, it was due to the actions that all major governments had to take during the pandemic. Russia's war only made it worse. There are two Democratic Senators that right now do not want to do this. And without them it looks dubious:

"So, without the support of Manchin or Sinema, Democrats would need to sweep in the November elections -- when their party is facing the bleakest midterm environment in a dozen years -- in order to approve abortion rights legislation."

Well, at least we can do it anyways like we do with cannabis.

The Republicans do not seem to believe the latest PEW poll on abortions. But then they still have a hard time understanding that Trump lost by a landslide, his words, not mine.

In the words of a band I love, and a song of theirs:

"What am I supposed to do
If I want to talk about peace and understanding
But you only understand the language of the sword
What if I want to make you understand that the path you chose leads to downfall
But you only understand the language of the sword
What if I want to tell you to leave me and my beloved ones in peace
But you only understand the language of the sword
I let the blade do the talking
So my tongue shall become iron
And my words the mighty roar of war
Revealing my divine anger's arrow shall strike
All action for the good of all
I see my reflection in your eyes
But my new age has just begun
The sword is soft
In the fire of the furnace
It hungers to be hit
And wants to have a hundred sisters
In the coldest state of their existence
They may dance the maddest
In the morass of the red rain
Beloved brother enemy
I sing my sword song for you
The lullaby of obliteration
So I can wake up with a smile
And bliss in my heart
And bliss in my heart
And bliss in my heart"

"Resistance is futile. "
Obviously the rules have no meaning to this administration.

Do you agree that all business in the Senate should be filibustered? Should everything require 60 votes? That's what seems to be happening. If one party filibusters all business becoming an obstruction, then it's only a matter of time before it gets revoked.

And once again, make sure that the voters remember come November.
There is going to have to be a multi step effort. Getting people registered. Making sure signatures are up to date. Making sure voters follow all the steps in mail in votes. Making sure people are ready for voting on election day. Helping people vote early if they have health problems. Democrats need to get serious about the messaging, and go all out in pointing out how Republicans are not pro-democracy nor pro-life.

I would think if Biden really wanted to help this fall he should create a significant middle class tax cut, and this would be to help offset inflation. To make it pass Democrats need to be elected. To balance the lost revenue just raise rates on billionaires and eliminate a few more loopholes that help the wealthy accumulate more wealth.

Cart before the horse. If the Democrats can’t get an abortion Bill through the House or Senate with a simple majority then the filibuster is a moot point. But the Democrats are divided on abortion. Even President Joe Biden know this. This is a simple misdirection attempt. “But the filibuster.” But they are divided and don’t want to go on record supporting late term abortion legislation, which would be required to mollify the pro-abortionists, with elections coming up. No Democrat Congress critter in a close race wants to run on that.

Please. What Democrat is not pro-choice? You may be deluded by your own beliefs.

What percentage of America is prochoice?

Not misdirection. It's strategy.

The majority of citizens are pro-abortionists. The religious who have a problem with abortion can mind their own business. Don't get one.

What abortion legislation would be agreeable to all the Democrats in Congress? That’s the thing. Apparently they can’t come up with one. It isn’t a question of yes or no. It is a question of how much. How much are Democrats really willing to do to get abortion legislation. It seems not that much since they haven’t put forth any such legislation.

What percentage of America s pro-choice? That depends on how you define it.

If it were really true that most citizens truly wanted abortion legislation it would have happened. But it hasn’t.

I would say that anyone that thinks that there should be little to no condition on abortions would qualify as prochoice.

Even I could compromise by agreeing that there would be no elective abortions after 24 weeks. But of course to make that compromise the Hyde Amendment has to go. I do not think that any abortion needs to be allowed at any time.

So with that, how many people are prochoice in America?

That is simply wrong. The Democrats are only poorly organized when it comes to this. There is a sizable number that say "any abortion at any time" and another sizable portion that would be willing to make some compromises.
