Biden tanking

And I will get back to you when I see you exhibit an open minded attitude towards Biden and Harris.
Don't hold your breath. Then again, on second thought...

I've followed Joe's career for far too long now and have no need to examine his viability any further, and still remember being a bit shocked that Obama would choose such a dunderhead as a running-mate. I get it that Obama needed someone with foreign policy experience, but Joe hardly had a long list of accomplishments in that area.

In a weird twist of fate, Biden specifically chose Kamala because she was a black woman, back when people still knew what a woman was, of course. From what I gather, "diversity" was virtually his sole reasoning for tagging Harris. Didn't we use to call hiring someone based on the colour of their skin, racism? Now we call it diversity. How quaint, eh?

I've never met a true Biden supporter in my life. Could it be that Biden supporters are a hoax? I don't think so, but you can never be too careful these days.

I'm guessing we're going to see an as yet unknown candidate coming completely out of left Field.

One thing Americans are always a sucker for is 'New'.

That's precisely what primaries are for, but that is no guarantee that they will prove helpful, particularly when the options are
  • Joe Biden
  • Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
  • Marianne Williamson
  • [ write-in ]
I agree, but that is our system for free elections. Why are there no democrat primary debates scheduled? Will they be scheduled?

Given that U.S. Presidential elections are all about perception (and the peculiarities of the Electoral College), 2024 does not look good irrespective of the Republican candidate. It should be clear that Biden is problematic, and clearer still that dropping Biden may be more so.

The question, then, is what to do.

At my house, we're hoping for a split republican ticket.

For me personally, I'm hoping that the words "enthusiasm gap" are not on repeat in the news and on media. That will drive me a bit bonkers.

Edit: I just checked the polling, and it doesn't look good for splitting the republicans.

^ that pretty much tells us everything we need to know about the underbelly of your denigration of Kamala Harris.
Um, Ok. Guess I was just imaging all that, eh?

From CNN ...

A broad 67% majority of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters now say it’s very or extremely likely that Biden will again be the party’s presidential nominee, up from 55% who felt that way in May. But 67% also say the party should nominate someone other than Biden – up from 54% in March, though still below the high of 75% who said they were seeking an alternative last summer.
That remains largely a show of discontent with Biden rather than support for any particular rival, with an 82% majority of those who’d prefer to see someone different saying that they don’t have any specific alternative in mind. Just 1%, respectively, name either of his two most prominent declared challengers, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. or Marianne Williamson.

Given that U.S. Presidential elections are all about perception (and the peculiarities of the Electoral College), 2024 does not look good irrespective of the Republican candidate. It should be clear that Biden is problematic, and clearer still that dropping Biden may be more so.

I'd like to see Pete Buttigieg get the nomination.
